A Busy Long Weekend

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Took videos of Gio’s birthday party and edited the clips. Thank goodness for iMovie and doing rough cuts.

Been learning Autodesk 3DS Max 2010 for the past 2 weeks. It’s nice that the 30-day demo is not crippled.

The modeling tools are pretty intuitive once you understand the terminology and basic use of ‘modifiers’. I generated the  frames on the PC and brought in the frames to After Effects CS3 (color correction, curves).  I then assembled these assets in Premiere CS3 and exported to Web format (720p H.264). In the architectural scene, you could see some flickering. Not sure if that can be eliminated by using a higher quality setting but the rendering times would definitely be longer. The bundled Mental Ray rendering engine is awesome.

I would like to thank Yugel Losorata and the Picture Perfect staff of the Manila Bulletin for a generous 4-page cover article in its January 13 issue.
Special mention goes to Edwin Loyola and Ronald Jayme for making this feature happen!

Morning at a Pizza Arcade

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

After Kamille’s soccer class we headed out to attend a friend’s birthday party at a nearby pizza and video game arcade. I shot some footage with the G9 and quickly assembled it on iMovie 08. The soundtrack was a precomposed piece from Adobe Soundbooth. I imported the video to Premiere and tweaked the colors and added some gradient maps. Maybe one of these days I will have the time to produce my own backing track from scratch on Ableton Live and the Motif XS7.
