Our dear Granny Kass gets some well-deserved lovin' at Rhodia Drive:
"...we envy her youthful spirit and vitality. As she fondly says, “Over the Hill and still thinking like a 20 something. Indeed, Grannykass is a kid at heart. She’s an avid collectors of pens and notebooks. Of course her collection wouldn’t be complete without the trusty Rhodia. She’s also a prolific writer so the pens and notebooks come in handy. As you can see, Grannykass also loves to travel and explore nature. We suspect her adventures keep her “20 something joie de vivre.
More.

Keeping a journal is easy. Keeping a life-altering, soul-enlightening journal, however, is not. At its best, journaling can be among the most transformative of experiences, but you can only get there by learning how to express yourself fully and openly. Enter Samara O'Shea.
O'Shea charmed readers with her elegant and witty For the Love of Letters. Now, in Note to Self, she's back to guide us through the fun, effective, and revelatory process of journaling. Along the way, selections from O'Shea's own journals demonstrate what a journal should be: a tool to access inner strengths, uncover unknown passions, face uncertain realities, and get to the center of self. To help create an effective journal, O'Shea provides multiple suggestions and exercises, including:
* Write in a stream of consciousness: Forget everything you ever learned about writing and just write. Let it all out: the good, bad, mad, angry, boring, and ugly.
* Ask yourself questions: What do I want to change about myself? What would I never change about myself?
* Copy quotes: Other people's words can help you figure out where you are in life, or where you'd like to be.
* It takes time: Don't lose faith if you don't immeÂdiately feel better after writing in your journal. Think of each entry as part of a collection that will eventually reveal its meaning to you.
O'Shea's own journal entries reveal alternately moving, edgy, and hilarious stories from throughout her life, as she hits the party scene in New York, poses naked as an aspiring model, stands by as her boyfriend discovers an infidelity by (you guessed it) reading her journal, and more. There are also fascinating journal entries of notorious diarists, such as John Wilkes Booth, Anaïs Nin, and Sylvia Plath.
A tribute to the healing and reflective power of the written word, Note to Self demonstrates that sometimes being completely honest with yourself is the most dangerous and rewarding pursuit of all.

Mohd Nazley Fadhley blogs about his latest find from Malaysia:
The Plan was to go out with my friend Adib a.k.a. Berisman, and enjoy some good photos at a Photo Exhibition, organized by the Kuala Lumpur Flickr Group ... KLickr.
The Exhibition was fun and I picked up a few ideas throughout the slide show presentation ... BUT the highlight of the day was finding this little journal (or notebook) at a book fair at a nearby shopping mall. The stop to the mall was just for lunch initially, but the crowd at the bookfair was so ... soooo ... irresistable.
This is the journal I got myself today. A Peter Pauper Press Pocket Journal.

Colouring books are something we first come to know when we are kids, carefulling choosing the colors and filling in the outlines with a great deal of concentration. But these are not just for children anymore! Recently, a lovely variety of “colouring books for adults” caught our eye! They are not what you might think they are. Simply, the practice and games found in these books have gradually evolved from kids’ stuff to things more suited to adults: drawing anatomy, colouring your favourite manga, folding coloured origami or even filling in the colours on a Nintendo DS!

This week's cool find is from our friends at Jet Pens:
The Huger is dubbed such because of its ample carrying capacity and multi pocket design. The case is actually two pencil cases in one - the smaller case securely attaches on to the outside of the larger one to allow easy access to frequently used writing instruments. Unzip the larger case to reveal 2 large and 2 small pockets, perfect for organizing your tools. Case can easily carry 20+ items.

More pencil case goodness here.
A fascinating link from our friend Chris Miesenzahl:
During the early hours of June 17, 1972, Frank Wills was the security guard on duty at the Watergate office complex in Washington, DC.. This log shows that at 1:47 a.m. he called the police, who arrested five burglars inside the Democratic National Committee Headquarters. Investigation into the break-in exposed a trail of abuses that led to the highest levels of the Nixon administration and ultimately to the President himself. President Nixon resigned from office under threat of impeachment on August 9, 1974.
